My opinion...

To me, Solidarity is the most important and the base of all the Catholic Social Teachings. Solidarity is the realization that that you are a human being. Its just not you that is a human being, everyone around you is also a human being. We all should love each other equally. We should not hate each other. We are all the same not matter what our race or culture or nationallity is. What makes us so alike is that we were all made in God's image and likeness. God made us so we could live a happy life in earth full of happiness and love. Not full of hate and viciousness and war and killing and sin. Every day we should wake up and praise God for giving us our life, for the things we have in it, and especially all the people who we have been blessed to have in our life. People like our mom, our dad, sister, brother, aunts, uncles, and so on and so forth. We should love each other for who they are and not try to change them in any way. We are all unique and we all have a out own special talents we have been given by God. Our life is a gift, not a reward. We should live it to the fullest, always knowing that God is by our side. (:

My OPINION.......

In my opinion, solidarity is the most important in Catholic Social Teaching. I think solidarity is the most important because it unites us with one. We all help each other in our community if we are all part of solidarity. Solidarity helps each and every one of us grow as a Catholics. We all can be part of solidarity if we just help each other. In solidarity, we can all be part of one community and part of one society. We all will not be a perfect society with solidarity, but we can be a great community. We should love one another as God loved us. We should all help one another as Jesus did. We all need to love as Jesus did.
We all are part of one community. If we don't know how to love one another we can not do any of the other Catholic Social Teaching. No matter what race we are we all are part of one community. We all can love each one another. Solidarity is all what love is about. We need to be a family as one. We all can be together in a large community and be a family. In my opinion, solidarity is all about love.

10 Year Old Survives Deadly Sting from a Box Jellyfish?

This story is awesome, I think that it's a miracle.
A 10 year old girl named Rachael Shardlow, from Australia, was swimming in a river with her brother. She went unconscious after being stung by this jellyfish. This particular jellyfish is so powerful that most people often go into shock and drown of heart failure. The venom of the jellyfish is very painful, and there isn't an anti-venom for its sting. It also has tentacles that is able to squeeze through even the smallest nets as it is only the size of a tiny fingernail. Luckily, this little girl was saved by her 13 year old brother. She spent about 6 weeks recovering in the hospital. Jamie Seymour zoology professor, says, "When I first saw the pictures of the injuries I just went, 'You know, to be honest, this kid should not be alive." She also said, "I don't know of anybody in the entire literature where we've studied this where someone has had such an extensive sting, that has survived." Rachael's father said that she only suffers scars on her legs, and some short term memory loss. This is story is amazingly awesome, and truly a miracle of God.

Abortioned Baby Survives!

A 22-week old baby's mother decided to get an abortion. Someone, name unknown, saw the 22-week old baby move in the tank. The baby was still breathing. It died two days later. The baby died after it was left with no care. Scans show that the baby had two malformations, one on its lip and one on its palate. The baby, weighing just under 11 ounces, was deposited by doctors onto a sheet after the procedure, and placed in a container to await his death. Law enforcement officials are investigating the case to see if this qualifies as abandonment or homicide. I believe this is a really important story. It tells us we should give everyone a right to life. Even though we might not want a child, we should always give a baby the right to life. There is a storey of a mom who wanted to get an abortion but decided not to. Her son grew up to be a very successful man. Like I said before, everyone should have the right to live. This is a way we can care for God's creations. W might not think a baby has a right to live but God gives every one the right to life.

Caring for God's Creation

Our world is our home that we need to take care of and respect. We need to also care for the things living in our world. Why do people insist on trashing it? Why can't they just take their trash to the nearest trashcan and throw it away! When you just throw it on the ground it means that you have no respect for what God made for us. Sadly, some trash can even get into the water and kill the sea animals. Is that really fair? Are people really that selfish? God loves us and he made our world why can't we just take care of it? Taking care of our environment is easy. We can do many things like recycle, and we could even clean the beaches. If we took care of our world in the first place, we wouldn't be worried about killing off sea animals or pollution. Taking care of God's creation isn't just caring for people, we need to care for animals too. If we all cared for each other then we wouldn't have to worry about fighting or bullying. Is it possible for us to live in peace and take care of our world?

The Dignity of Work and the Rights of Workers

Everyone has rights and responsibilities in their life. Their life isn't as easy as you'd suspect it to be. Every choice you make there's a consequence that follows it. Either good or bad, you still have to comply with it. "Work is more than a way of living, it is a form of continuing participation in God's creation," says the US Bishops in Sharing Catholic Social Teaching. Workers have a responsibility to do their job to the best of their ability, and in return they get paid. But what about being overworked and underpaid? This happens in many third world countries. Children even work, and hardly get paid anything. People deserve fair wages if they put in alot of work, not just minimum wage. Everyone deserves to be treated fairly. It isn't fair when people hardly work and get paid more than people that work harder. Even some children work harder than adults and get paid less. Work is very important, because it is the way we provide for ourselves and our families. But, if we dont get paid decent or fairly, is that possible? Issues of workplace equality, fair wage, benefits, and family concerns have been issues for workers all around the world, not just the United States.

Rights and Responsibilities

Everyone has rights and responsibilities. God is calling us to help keep peace in the world. A few responsibilities are helping friends and family and obeying God. Ever since we are born and baptized we are called by God to partake in the responsibilities He gives us. We also have a fundamental right to life, the right that makes all others possible. Every person has a right to living a decent life in God. We have a duty to respect these rights and responsibilities but not only for ourselves but for everyone. Everyone has a right to a good education and shelter. In today's society, some of these rights are challenged. Some ways our rights are challenged are illegal immigrants are deprived of health care. Another way is public schools are not able to pray in public and if they do, they could get in a lot of trouble. One other is teachers in a public school aren't allowed to talk to students about religious information. Everyone should have the right to talk about there faith in public. Here at St. Johns the Evangelist school we are encouraged to talk about our faith, it is one of our rights.

Solidarity!!

Solidarity is the realization that you are human and everyone around you is too; You are called to love every one, not just the people who you think are worthy to be loved. All of us, even you and me, are apart of one big family. Every living human being either just born or ready to die, we are all one family. What ever our nationality, race, ethnicity, econonmic , or idealogical differences, we are all still one community made by God and in his likeness and image. We are living in a world in which it seems as if its shrinking everyday. That doesn't mean, though, that our love for everyone should shrink also. We are all equal no matter what any one says. Nobody can play the role of God. If they attempt to, don't listen to them. The main importance of solidarity is the search for peace, justice, and equalness. We are in a world greatly wounded and effected by violence. When we love everyone, we also promote that we demand not only us, but everyone in this world love one another. We are all one big, happy human family. Even though we may think that we are the superior mamals, we still need to think and care about the animal all around us. They need love and protection to, you know. We all need protection and love.

Option for the Poor and Vulnerable

We are called to help not just the community but the world. We should help everyone that is alive, we can help by caring for homeless people and the vulnerable men and women in the world. To help the homeless, we can provide shelter and food and money. The vulnerable can be helped by giving food and shelter, and providing protection. Everyone deserves help, so it is important to care for others. There are many homes that care for the homeless and vulnerable. For instance some people have walkathons to help build funds for new homes. One idea For helping the poor is by instead of giving money, you can give food and a drink in a bag. You can also offer to work at the habitat for humanity. Some people don't even care that other people are homeless they just ignore everyone but them self. It is important to treat everyone as you would want to be treated because that is Gods great commandment. God made everyone in his image and not in how much money they make, so everyone needs to be treated equal. Thank you for listening to what i have to say. Have a nice day.

Call to Family, Community, and Participation

We are all called to Family, Community, and Participation. We are all called to be living in a great family and to be part of a great community. We are all to participate with each other in our community. There are many ways we can participate in our families and our communities. We can participate in our communities by volunteering in our community, helping one another, and also by donating to the poor. We can participate in our families by helping our bothers and sisters, which are our neighbors.
There are many examples of people who follow this. There is one main person that I want to talk about, and her name is Sister Thea Bowman. Sister Thea Bowman was a Methodist until she was nine and then she became a catholic. Sister Thea Bowman shared the message of God's love through teaching. Sister Thea Bowman became a teacher and was gifted with a brilliant mind. Sister Thea Bowman was a great example of catholic social teaching because she participated in her community. She was also part of her family, her family was her school, and her students were her brothers and sisters. Sister Thea bowman is a great example on catholic social teaching.

Life and Dignity of the Human Person

The Catholic Church believes that all human life should be cherished. This belief is the base of a honorable vision for society. Life and Dignity of the Human Person is the base of all of the social teachings. In our world today, human life is being knocked down to nothing. The cause? The invention of abortion and euthanasia. Euthanasia is when you inject a substance into you that stops your hearts after a few minutes. This is also know as the Death Penalty. Abortion is when a person kills the unborn child inside of a female at and early stage to end their pregnancy. Life should be held dear to you. You should not want to destroy it. It is also in danger of cloning, embryonic stem cell research, and the Death Penalty. As Catholics, we also believe that war should only be used as an absolute last resource to solve a problem. By choosing war, we are also choosing to attack not only the opposing force but also attacking innocent civilians. As a world of transforming human beings, we should be smart enough to configure smarter, more effect, and less damaging way to resolve our conflicts. A few examples of WRONG ways to resolve our conflicts are nuclear bombings, terrorist attacks, and war. Every single individual has something special that God has given to them. There is a reason why he did it. There is reason why that one person was given the right to life. Theres is no need for killing or hurting one person over differences or dislikes. We must protect the right to life and keep loved ones close, but keep the hated ones closer.
